Effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Tarrant County issued an executive order restricting residents from leaving their homes except for essential activities through April 7, unless terminated or modified by a subsequent order. All public or private gatherings of any number of people occurring outside a single household are prohibited including in-person worship services. The order does allow  "needed staff to attend to produce audio/video or conduct services for transmission."

ONLINE WORSHIP

As our Church Campus is now closed, St. Barnabas United Methodist Church is live streaming worship at 11:00 a.m. each Sunday for our church family and community. There are three ways to view our live streaming services: on our church website, on our YouTube channel or on our Facebook page

STAYING CONNECTED

Even as we are being asked to practice social distancing, we know that being in community is important for both our emotional and spiritual health. That is why we are working hard to create ways for those in our congregation to stay connected to God and each other.

For children, we are offering Kids Connect virtually via Zoom on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:00 p.m. and an at-home Sunday School Packet for families to walk through together. For more information, contact Alyssa Lawther, Children's Discipleship Director.

For youth, we are offering a virtual Bible Study on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m., virtual hangout time on Sundays from 6:00-8:00 p.m., family devotionals and fun at-home activities for the youth. For more information, contact Kaitlyn Wilson, Youth Discipleship Director.

Many of our adult Sunday School classes and small groups are meeting virtually also. For more information, contact the Church Office.

EASTER AND HOLY WEEK

Make plans to join us online for our Holy Week and Easter services!

PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 5, 11:00 A.M.

Our children have the opportunity to participate in a virtual "Palm" Parade this year. We encourage parents to take no more than a 30-second video of your child/children as they parade down your street waving their palms (hands) in the air. Then, send the video to Alyssa Lawther, Children's Discipleship Director, by Wednesday, April 1. We will use as many videos as possible compiled into one video that will be shared during our Palm Sunday worship.

Video Tips

  • Make sure the phone or camera is horizontal;
  • Don’t cover the microphone or lens;
  • Clean your lens with a soft cloth or shirt before recording;
  • Make sure your child is in the center of the frame/screen.

MAUNDY THURSDAY WORSHIP, APRIL 9, 7:00 P.M.

During our Maundy Thursday service, we will have the opportunity to have Holy Communion. Each family will need to acquire grape juice and bread for their family. Rev. Ginger will bless the elements and lead us through the sacrament of Holy Communion.

GOOD FRIDAY WORSHIP, APRIL 10, 7:00 P.M.

We will have a service of “Tenebrae,” or darkness, on Good Friday. Each family will need seven (7) candles, votive-size or larger. As our pastors extinguish candles in the Sanctuary, you at home will be able to do the same.

EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 11:00 A.M.

Our Easter celebration will be at 11:00 a.m. A second, earlier service may be added. Look for more details soon.
