Rev. Thomas Andrew “Tag” Green was born in Mansfield near his paternal grandparents’ home in Rendon, but grew up in North Richland Hills. Tag graduated from Richland High School where he excelled in football. However, his fondest memories are from his early years split between First United Methodist Church Watauga, where he was baptized and confirmed, and Retta Baptist Church, where his paternal grandmother was a member.
A salesman and business manager by trade, Tag spent the largest part of his career supporting and selling to the manufacturing arena. He most recently left a position as a manager over a seven-state territory selling steel tubing. During this time, he was actively involved at First United Methodist Church of Hurst where he received his call into the ministry. Tag began the process into ministry about four years ago and recently served as a part-time pastor to Dresden United Methodist Church (near Corsicana) and Italy First United Methodist Church.
In 2013, Tag met his wife, Leslie. She is not only his best friend, but she is vital to his ministry and faith and was one of the first to help affirm his call and support his journey. Tag and Leslie are proud parents of a dachshund named Buddy and two calico cats named Callie and Chloe. He also has four grown children and four grandchildren.
