Easter and holy week

Celebrate Easter with St. Barnabas United Methodist Church!


March 25 - Palm Sunday

Children will have the opportunity to participate in a Palm Parade at the beginning of each service.

  • For 8:30 a.m. worship, children should meet in the Narthex 10 minutes prior to service to participate
  • For 9:30 a.m. worship, come early to Sunday School or meet in the Atrium 10 minutes prior to service. Children's Team members will take the children back to Sunday School after the parade.  
  • For 10:50 and 11:00 a.m. service, meet in the Atrium at 10:35 a.m. to participate. The children and Chancel Choir will process through the Family Life Center first and then the Sanctuary. Immediately following the procession, there will be a Children's Time in the Sanctuary. The children can then go to Children's Church or return to sit with their parents in their worship space.  


March 29 - Maundy Thursday

7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary


March 30 - Good Friday

7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary


April 1 - Easter

6:45 a.m. Sunrise Service on the Front Lawn (bring lawn chairs)

8:30 a.m. Traditional Service in the Sanctuary

9:30 a.m. Traditional Service in the Sanctuary

10:50 a.m. Contemporary Service in the Family Life Center

11:00 a.m. Traditional Service in the Sanctuary


Before or after the service you attend, you are invited to go out to the front lawn to attach one of
the paper butterflies our children made to the cross used during our Good Friday service to
symbolically transform it into the Resurrection Cross.


Childcare will be available at all services except the Sunrise Service on Easter. And, we will once again have a photo booth set up in the Atrium on Easter morning for those who would like to get an Easter family photo taken.


pancake breakfast & easter egg hunt

saturday, march 31, 9:00 a.m.

Our youth will be preparing and serving pancakes at the annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 31, to help raise money for their summer mission trips. Breakfast will be followed by the children’s Easter Egg Hunt. Donations of individually-wrapped candy (no peanut products please) and plastic Easter Eggs are needed for the Egg Hunt. Bring donations to the Atrium on Sundays or to the Church Office during the week.
