Adult Sunday School

Saint Barnabas currently hosts seven adult Sunday School Classes where adult visitors and members can grow in their maturity, knowledge and faith.

All are on Sunday mornings, at 9:30 a.m., meeting locations are noted below.

BUILDERS, Family Life Center, F-109

This class has a teacher-facilitated discussion format. It was formed in the Spring of 2003. Their studies alternate between Bible study, discipleship/spirituality issues, and life issues. Members of this class help to facilitate the lessons.

CROSSROADS, Family Life Center, F-220

This class is for young adults who are 18-25 years old. It was formed in the Spring of 2003. Singles and couples are both welcome. This class uses their own life experiences as well as video media to examine biblical texts in new ways.
METAMORPHOSIS, Family Life Center, F-214

This is a class for those who want to:
-
interactively explore contemporary issues through a variety of media,
-
develop supportive, diverse friendships (mixed ages, couples and singles),
-
feel your opinions are heard in a warm and loving environment,
-
shape your personal development through Bible-based life understanding.

This class is made up of men and women, couples and singles.  The class was formed in the Fall of 2005.

SEEKERS, Family Life Center, F-209

This class has been around as long as St. Barnabas itself. Weldon Lotspeich has been the discussion leader for over 22 years. Members range in age from 30 something to 80 something. The discussions tend to be lively, as the members are not shy about sharing their opinions. The class is currently studying the adult international lesson series. All are welcome to this active and friendly class.
SINGLES, Senior Pastor's Office

This class was revived after a brief absence in the Fall of 2006.  It is primarily
aimed at Singles who are in their 30's, 40's, 50's, and beyond.  The class uses
small group discussion in addition to video Bible studies to grow in their
spirituality in ways that are relevant to their daily lives.

THEOPHILITES, Family Life Center, F-211

Currently, this is our largest Sunday School class. They are, as their Greek name professes, “lovers of God”. Jeff Holler leads this lecture/discussion style class. As “lovers of God”, they are also lovers of their brothers and sisters in Christ. You will find them to be a caring support group. They look forward to your visit.

WESLEYAN, Family Life Center, F-213

The topics of discussion are as varied as the members of this contemporary class. In the past they have studied books by the scholars of the Jesus Seminars such as “Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time”. At other times this class has covered topics including the crusades, the history of Christianity, and Jesus movies. If you have a questioning mind, this class is for you. They look forward to having you visit this lecture/discussion class.
